Sports injuries

Common sports injuries I see:

Knee injuries:

Knee injuries are common in both sport and everyday life, ranging from sudden twists and ligament sprains to longer‑term issues caused by overload or muscle imbalance. Treatment focuses on reducing pain, restoring movement and rebuilding strength and stability around the knee to support confident, pain‑free activity.

Shoulder & Elbow Injuries:

Shoulder and elbow problems often develop through repetitive strain, lifting, throwing or impact. These joints rely heavily on good muscle control, so treatment typically combines hands‑on techniques with targeted rehabilitation to improve strength, mobility and function.

Muscle & Tendon Injuries:

Muscle strains and tendon problems can occur suddenly or build gradually through overuse. Early treatment helps reduce pain and protect the injured tissue, while progressive strengthening restores resilience and reduces the risk of re‑injury.

Joint Sprains:

Joint sprains happen when ligaments are overstretched or torn, often during sudden changes of direction or awkward landings. Treatment aims to reduce swelling, restore movement and rebuild balance and stability so the joint can function confidently again.

Hip & Low Back Injuries:

Hip and lower‑back injuries can affect movement, strength and daily comfort. These issues often involve a combination of joint stiffness, muscle tension and reduced control. Treatment focuses on improving mobility, easing pain and strengthening the surrounding muscles to support long‑term recovery.

Ligament Sprains:

Ligament sprains vary from mild overstretching to more significant tears. Hands‑on treatment can help reduce pain and swelling, while rehabilitation exercises rebuild stability and control around the affected joint to support safe return to activity.

Injury Rehabilitation:

Rehabilitation is essential for restoring strength, mobility and confidence after an injury. A structured, progressive exercise plan helps rebuild function, prevent future problems and support a safe return to sport, work and daily life.
